Belgian Black marble

Carrara, 2024.

Like a pillow, but carved in marble. A descending staircase, etched into a shape that feels soft, almost corporeal. An intimate, everyday object is transformed into a vessel through an opening carved into the material — leading to a primitive dimension, an ancient space, hard to name but essential to encounter. The work is an invitation to retreat: not a collapse downward, but a conscious descent into oneself.

A threshold that receives the weight and transforms it into listening.
